Yes, I could have gone the obvious route and elected to make this week "Cinco de Mayo Style." But why not spice it up a bit? You know why it's Star Wars Day, yes? Because May the Fourth be with you, that's why. Quit tryna act like you didn't just grin a little bit. You know you like it, chumps.

By the way, no Crofton Show once again this week. CCS engineer/sidekick Joe Baine Colvert is currently doing some grown-up stuff, but the boys will be back in action before you know it.

Anyway, on to the weekend haps, which are looking generally solid. Tonight you've got the sold-out Melvins/Unsane show at Exit/In, Uncle Skeleton's record release show at Mercy, Makeup and Vanity Set & The Protomen's DJ set cancer benefit at Brick Factory, Courtney Jaye with Birdcloud and Denney and the Jets at The Basement, Kyle Andrews in The High Watt and much more. Tomorrow you're looking at Royal Bangs and Fly Golden Eagle at The End, The Long Players doing Harvest at Mercy, GED Soul Records' crawfish boil at The Judge's Vinegarroon, Counting Crows at The Ryman, the Aftercrawl show with The Non-Comms and more at Brick Factory and more. There's even some lively action on Sunday, with PUJOL and Screaming Females at The End and all. Have a look at the rest — compiled by music listings editor and Sith Lord Adam "Darth" Gold — after the jump. Let us know what we missed, and have yourselves a stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder of a weekend.
