Women Rock for the Cure is a local organization that raises funds and provides outreach to young women fighting breast cancer. WRFTC has hosted a long-running series of annual Nashville benefit concerts that have featured performers like The Judds, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood. Tonight’s Fourth Annual Pink Trash Ball at Mercy Lounge will feature Tiffany live and in person. (That’s right, THE Tiffany!)
So that’s great. What’s also great is the mental image the name "Women Rock for the Cure" has conjured in my simple little literal brain every time I’ve entered a listing for one of their events over the past couple years: It’s of a kick-ass, all-female rock band rippin’ it up and rockin’ out onstage for an audience that exclusively includes Robert Smith, Porl Thompson, Simon Gallup, Lol Tolhurst, Roger O’Donnell, Perry Bamonte or any and/or all past or present members of English new romantic New Wave icons The Cure.
Tonight, Women will rock for the cure at Mercy Lounge. And today, Cream in-house Photoshopographer D. Ricky Rodriguez takes the visions in my head and paints them on the canvas that is his iMac. (See above.)
