When we told you that fraternal, Nashvillian psych-garage duo JEFF the Brotherhood was slated to open some dates for queen of cat-loving, boy-crazy sunshine pop, Bethany Cosentino and her Best Coast, we also mentioned that they recorded a direct-to-quarter-inch session at United Record Pressing for Volume III of the plant’s Upstairs at United series. Included on the single in question is an 11-minute cover of Hawkwind's "Master of the Universe" featuring locals William Tyler, Loney Hutchins and Joey Plunket. The single will drop on April 21 — Record Store Day 2012.
On Friday, Spin premiered an exclusive video of JEFF & Co. recording "Master," and you can watch it above. Nice of the boys to toss out nuggets to national media between interviews with international media.
