Weekend Round-Up: Mad Man Style

Posted by on Fri, Mar 9, 2012 at 7:45 AM

First up, no Crofton Show again this week. The boys hope to be back next week. So, tomorrow is John Hamm's birthday. Also, Mad Men's fifth season will debut later this month. Dubious fodder for a round-up style? Perhaps. But I wanted to see what music listings editor Adam Gold would look like in a nice suit. Also, the only other thing I could think of was the fact that the Notorious B.I.G. was shot to death 15 years ago today (RIP, Biggie), and that seemed a bit macabre for a Weekend Round-Up style. Right?

Most importantly, the weekend that stretches out before us offers many options for the rock 'n' roll-consuming local. Tonight you've got the Freakin' Weekend festivities continuing at Exit/In with JEFF, Cy, D. Watusi and more (after-party at Dino's, BTW), plus Maps and Atlases at Mercy, Magnolia Sons at The 5 Spot, En Fuego's three-year anniversary at Mai, Shoot the Mountain and others at Zombie Shop and more. Tomorrow night, you're looking at the final Freakin' Weekend installment with The Traditional Fools, Mikal Cronin, The Men and more at The End, not to mention Ri¢hie, Mystery Twins and more at The 5 Spot, Anais Mitchell at The Basement, The Wood Brothers at 3rd & Lindsley and plenty more. Have a look after the jump to see the rest — compiled by Adam "Dick Whitman Don Draper" Gold. Let us know what we missed, and have yourselves a freakin' exemplary weekend.
