Ever wondered what it’s like to gear up for a gig at The Ryman?
From backstage rituals like a midday management debriefing, sound check, interviews, the writing of the set list and the walk (or in this, case elevator ride) to the stage to the last-minute, pre-show toast, the above installment of The Civil Wars Tour Diary series — the rest of which you can peep on the band’s YouTube page — gives a fly-on-wall perspective of Joy Williams and John Paul White’s activities as the hours and minutes tick down to their homecoming, headlining debut at country music’s Mother Church last month.
The clip was shot and edited by local photographer and videographer Allister Ann. Check it out.

Allister Ann should take over command at CMT and GACtv. Can the stuff on those channels get any worse? I can't even skim by those channels anymore since they are so full of awful stuff! I would have to say that it's time for a new direction or a new director running those music channels...to include all the MTV's and the VH1, 2, etc. How about someone creating some GMC (((Gold's Music Channel...Gold getting final approval of what stuff [or shit] does or doesn't get on air))). This was a very nice musical piece to watch. I especially liked that after it ended there were more clips to click and watch! I thought those two were married to each other until I read another article Gold wrote about how they are marrried, but not to each other. There is some heavy tension/chemistry going on between those two and that makes for some extra intimate performances. Hopefully they will stay loyal to each of their own marriages and not blow a good, or rather great thing that they have going on within the music. All that sexual tension they exude (((don't know if that's a word, or the right word, but it's the only word I can think of to explain what I'm seeing in their "homemade" videos))) makes for some great songwriting and performing. I know people got to be talking about this.
