Today I was perusing The Muse’s website for something other than the average quasi-local metal group and what did I find? None other than a carbon copy bill from exactly one year ago (minus three days) of The Toasters, The Beat Officers and a.k.a. RUDIE performing tonight!
It’s bizarre enough that the group that pretty much created third wave ska is playing at one of Nashville’s smallest venues, but to come back for round two must say something about this humble town. And The Toasters’ catalog against local ska favorites The Beat Officers and a.k.a RUDIE will make for a hell of a Wednesday night.
If this show is anything like their prior Nashville visit, expect an intimate crowd of roughly 30 piss-drunk individuals skanking to their collective heart’s content. This should be a positive visual. You should go. Although price isn't listed, last year’s ticket was around $8, a steal and a half for anyone invested in the genre.
