The highly anticipated high-seas hi jinx of the Bruise Cruise are only a month away! The second annual Bruise Cruise will shove off from the mainland on Feb. 10, and festival organizer/lead Turbo Fruit/gender-bending video star Jonas Stein just sent along some fresh news bits regarding the cruise — like, for instance, the above promo vid featuring pro surfer Alek Parker. But that's just the beginning. There's a lot of info here (and only 25 cabins remaining), so let's dive straight in.
For starters, legendary Dead Kennedys frontman, free-speech advocate and record collector Jello Biafra has been added to the festival lineup. He'll be DJing with selections from his own personal record collection, and will also host a "surprise lecture" — surprise as in no one knows exactly what he'll be talking about, and that's exciting. Follow me after the jump for more bits, would-be Croozers
We told you about how headliners Fucked Up dropped a split with fellow Bruisers The Dirt Bombs via Bruise Cruise Records' limited-edition vinyl series, and now it looks like there's another bit of goodness coming our way. Garage rockers King Khan and the Shrines have released their track “Bite My Tongue," which will appear on their split 7-inch with Mikal Cronin. "The 7” is part of a limited edition vinyl collection featuring artists from the 2012’s lineup," say the BC folks. "Every attendee will receive one 7” in their complimentary gift bags." Hear "Bite My Tongue" below.
What else? Oh, the official schedule. Take a look:
And if you're in the Miami area around this time but aren't quite down to stretch your sea legs, you can still attend the Bruise Cruise's two kickoff parties, which will feature performances from Fucked Up, The Soft Pack, Khan and the Shrines, Cronin, The Togas, Jacuzzi Boys (just added!), Thee Oh Sees and loads more of folks who will also be aboard the ship. Full lineups, details and tickets are available here, but if you're already booked on the cruise, you get in for free. Oh man, I can already sense the briny odor of sea breeze and punk-rock vomit. The Cream will be there. How about you?
