Weekend Round-Up: Daylight Saving Style

Posted By on Fri, Nov 4, 2011 at 7:45 AM

I hope everyone's ready for it to start getting dark at a preposterous hour. This weekend is the end of Daylight Saving Time (and by the way, if you say "Daylight Savings Time," you're saying it wrong), so don't forget to set your clocks back an hour at 2 a.m. Saturday night/Sunday morning. When the clock strikes 2, get the kids out of bed and call your grandparents on the phone: Let's make the most of our spare hour via some serious bonding. It's about to get cold, dark and depressing.

But forget all that! This weekend is jam-packed with all sorts of fun stuff to keep your mind off the ensuing winter months. Tonight we're looking at the SKYROC Oasis Center benefit at The Belcourt in honor of Schuyler Vassen and featuring Colorfeels, The Grayces and more, The Nobility's record release show at The Rutledge, JEFF the Brotherhood's show at Walnut House in Murfreesboro to benefit YEAH — which will be preceded by a Q&A with the Orrall Brothers regarding Infinity Cat Records — and tons more. Tomorrow night you've got The Black Angels and Dead Meadow at Exit/In, Bird Names, Renee Louise Carafice and the rest at Noa Noa, Big Surr, Triptides and more at The End, Bobby Keys at Mercy Lounge, Kyle Andrews, Madi Diaz and more at The Basement and tons more. Good stuff on Sunday, too. Have a look at everything — compiled by music listings editor Adam "Here Comes There Goes the Sun" Gold — after the jump. Let us know what we missed, and have yourselves a fantastic weekend.
