Third Man Records' 10th Vault Package to Feature Beck, Josh Homme and Mark Lanegan Remixes, Raconteurs Live LP and Devil's Night DVD

Third Man Records' Devil's Night DVD Teaser

Here's the thing with Third Man Records' Vault Packages: If you're a Vault member, then you know about these releases before anyone else — save the TMR crew themselves, of course. So if you're a card-carrying member of the TM-ARmy, the contents of Jack White's package (so to speak) won't come as any surprise to you. But for everyone else ... well, have a look at all this crazy shit:

When The Raconteurs played their first show in nearly three years on Sept. 14 — the one that sold out like whoa, and the one that served as a warm-up gig for the following night's Ryman takeover — their set was unsurprisingly committed to tape. A 12-inch black-and-blue vinyl LP of "the most intimate gig of [The Raconteurs'] career" is the lead-off item from the Vault package.

Also included will be a special 45, which will feature Beck's remix of The White Stripes' "The Hardest Button to Button" backed with Josh Homme and Mark Lanegan's (Queens of the Stone Age, Screaming Trees) remix of The Dead Weather's "Hang You From the Heavens." Now, anyone who read The Spin's review of Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks' show last week at Mercy knows that the elusive Mr. Hansen is — or at least was — spending some time in Nashville lately. At this point, I'm at liberty to do nothing more than conjecture. But here are the facts: Given this remix release, Beck has worked with the Third Man guys. He was in Nashville last week — within two blocks of Third Man Records, in fact. Your guess is as good as mine — well, almost as good as mine — as to whether or not anything more will come of this. But hey, you can't stop the Nashville Rumor Mill from churnin', and right now, whispers of "Beck," "solo album" and "in Nashville" seem to be swirling a bit. Hey, I'm only saying. People say things.

But back to the matter at hand: The TMR Vault Package in question features one final item. Last Halloween, you may recall that Jack's House played host to an Elvira-hosted shindig called Devil's Night that featured performances from The Black Belles (their first ever) and a ZZ Top-mimicking Greenhornes, a fire-swallower and more. See the teaser for the behind-the-scenes DVD filmed at that soiree above.

See all the official deets via Third Man's site. If you're intrigued enough to take the plunge and become a Vault member, do so here. If you sign up as a Platinum Member by Halloween, you'll get all the aforementioned goodies in your jack-o'-lantern-shaped bucket.

The Raconteurs' Live at Third Man Records set/track list:

"Consolers of the Lonely"
"Salute Your Solution"
"Hands/I Can See For Miles"
"Old Enough"
"Top Yourself"
"Many Shades of Black"
"The Switch and the Spur"
"Broken Boy Soldier"
"Steady As She Goes"
"Blue Veins"

I actually need to get my head out of the box and keep it out of the box (I'm in it right now...again. It's frickin addicting, ahhhhhh!). Do you think you could talk to TMR about selling those Vault package deals to those who walk into the store front and just pick up a Vault package in person? I don't need to stay in touch via the internet the rest of the time (as mentioned earlier). Getting to Nashville and to the TMR store to pick up this Vault #10 package in person would really be worth the trip. The Devil's Night show was my first time in the "live" venue section, TMR's Blue Room. Yeah, it was the best Halloween party that I had been to since I had one for my friends in the basement of my parents' house when we all were in 7th grade. Yeah, it was one amazing room, one amazing party with amazing music. Did Jack White attend the Halloween party at his own "house", as he calls it? Yeah, he sure did, dressed up in what looked like an official NASA space suit. Definitely freaked me out when he walked on by. Yeah, it was one very special and memorable night. And the Rac's at TMR...well the tickets were all sold out in a blink of an eye but I was able to get one for the Raconteurs at the Ryman and yeah, the Mother Church of Country Music can now also be called the Mother Church of Rock & Roll! Yeah, the town once known for mostly country music is now thriving in the wonderful sounds of Rock & Roll. Thank you God! I'll be back to church again soon T:L ohhhh yeah

Why is Jack White posting under the name "hell yeah"?

So funny puh-leez that you are accusing Mr. White of writing the first comment. Actually I have to confess that I wrote the note and I am old enough to be his mother...my first rock concert = seeing Jimmi Hendrix in October of 1968 at the age of 14 in my hometown Cincinnati, Ohio (reason for extra love for the Greenhornes). I guess you could say the "hell yeah" phrase is stuck in my head from following the Hitmen of Music Row (Bob Dipiero, Craig Wiseman, Jeffrey Steele and Tony Mullins) for years. If you ever attend a Jeffrey Steele concert he will most likely tell the story behind his song with the "hell yeah" lyrics in it and play the song. In fact Mr. Steele is playing at the 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill on Saturday night and you may be able to see him perform that song "live" and in person. Now this will have to be my last post/comment on this D Patrick Rodgers article since I need to get real work done before heading down to Nashville for the Americana Music Association awards show (hosted by Jim Lauderdale again) at the Ryman (the only church I go to) on Thursday evening. Maybe see ya there? If you can't make it to the show it will be aired for the first time on tv (NPT). Just wanted to set the record stright and not have Mr. White blamed for my admiration of all the great rock & roll music coming out of Music City, USA "these days" (another Steele song, cut by Rascal Flatts). Still love it all...the bluegrass (first saw Earl Scruggs & his sons at age 18 in Cincinnati), the blues (always love seeing B.B. King & Buddy Guy..now a local guy), the country (Vince Gill at the Station Inn as a Time Jumper band member almost every Monday night), the country-rock and the rock & roll! Out of respect for all, I will now sign off with my real first name...and for those who really know me, you already know my last name. Peace! PS: Being from a military town and having to deal with the wars for the last 10 years, it is nice to visit the music town and forget about the wars for a little bit. Maybe I just see the best that the music town has to offer and I am very grateful to finally be able to visit more often. C U N "Tune Town"

yep maim, "Third Man Retard" here = better than a depressed, full time, country music fan. Damn I got accused of being Jack White, when I sing in Nashville people say I sound like Patsy Cline and about half my life ago, when Bob Dylan was on stage playing his harmonica, I got mine out and jammed along with him and folks around me cheered and and clapped and said, "the next little Bob Dylan". He sent a kid out in the audience and the kid asked me if I would like to meet Bob Dylan. I thought he was trying to pick me up and told him I didn't want to miss the show. Years later while staying home with the kids and watching Oprah, I found out that, that is how some stars meet folks in the audience. I guess you could say I've been a "retard" of sorts for a long time. I really screwed that one up! I wasn't going to get back in the box and expose any more of myself here but what the hell, "hell yeah", it has been fun. I'll just leave ya all with a WAZZUP??? It's stupid in the box!!!

You guys should have given Jack White the "hard edge republican of the year" award in your awards issue last week. This guy does jack shit for the less fortunate people in Nashville and totally bilks his celebrity status to peddle limited vinyl. It's surprising third man doesn't host tea party rallies down there along with their limited vinyl sales.

And all the 'tards wanna know, what's next from Third Man?

That's right, Snooki, Pauly D, Sarah Palin and Charlie Sheen collabs.

Why would anyone sign up for this package when the last Vault package has still not shipped? Slow down TMR, you make good on your last promise and we'll see about next quarter. Spoiler alert: I'm gonna pass.

I hope they order a whole bunch and have left overs to sell ("on sale") on Record Store Day 2012 , preferably from the rolling record truck...to avoid having to wait in the longer line to get into the store. For me, regular prices and long lines suck.
