So Monday is Columbus Day. Do you guys get off of work for that? If you can't get a day off of work in celebration of a European in a silly hat "discovering" an entire hemisphere that was already home to a culturally diverse population of roughly 30 million, then what can you get a day off of work for?

But Monday practically seems forever away, considering all of the strong rock we've got going on over the weekend. Tonight you've got Glossary's album release at The 5 Spot, Bobby Bare Jr. with Tristen and Ponychase at Mercy Lounge, Keb' Mo' at The Ryman, Elizabeth Cook at Cheekwood Nights and more. Tomorrow you're looking at the Soundtrack Beat Battle at Limelight, J. Roddy Walston and the Business at 12th & Porter, Frontier Ruckus and Birdcloud at The End and more. Have a look at the rest — compiled by music listings editor and seafaring explorer Adam Gold — after the jump. Let us know what we missed, and have yourselves a good weekend.
