* Local stoner-metal/hard-rock/desert-rock outfit Across Tundras stay prolific and frequently defy classification. They recently uploaded a whole flock of releases to their Bandcamp page, and while they aren't all brand-new, many of them are new to me. Hear tunes from their Tumbleweeds below.
* Did you guys read Edd Hurt's feature on Connie Smith in this week's dead-tree edition? Good stuff. You may also know that she's playing an in-store at Grimey's this very afternoon. Hear the titular track from Smith's brand-new Long Line of Heartaches below, and hear two other preview numbers at her Bandcamp page.
* Apparently, The Joiners' Knee Deep has been out since way back in '01. But if you haven't heard it, it's on Bandcamp now. Hear "Drunk" below. It's a nice, urgent, alt-country tune about ... well, I think you can guess what it's about.
Hear also: Trad-country joker Jonny Corndawg's "Chevy Beretta" and a whole bunch of tunes from piano-popsters Parachute Musical.

Some great bands posted here...Richie (well, Ghostfinger) was my first show ever here in middle tennessee, many years ago at Grand Palace. And I saw Across Tundras kill it at their album release show at Little Hamilton.
Allow me to pimp out my own band. Check it out if you like bands that are in what-ever-the-hell-it-is-genre that The Mars Volta started. This is our debut full length, recorded all analog at Fry's Pharmacy.
