Second Quasi-Annual Rock 'n' Roll Science Fair Tonight at Mercy Lounge

I’m not sure how this idea came together, but tonight is the second “quasi-annual” 8 off 8th Rock 'n' Roll Science Fair at Mercy Lounge. In typical check-out-all-these-bands fashion, eight local bands will grace the stage and bang out three of four songs each. But, as the event plainly states, it’s a science fair as well. Bands and show-goers are encouraged to make and bring a science project, and if that doesn’t sound like a reason to go out on a Monday night, then I don’t know what is.

It’s free, so you can’t go wrong with the price, and the lineup is pretty awesome, too. Bad Cop, Sam & Tre, Leslie Keffer, Hobbledions, Thelma and the Sleaze, Spiderfriends, Look What I Did and the debut of Cream contributor Seth Graves' Gay Vibes. What’s in a name, right? No word on whether or not there's a contest involved in the science fair portion of the show, but, if I remember correctly from grade school, the person with the coolest science project wins — usually a ribbon. So pull those lemons and potatoes out of the fridge and grab some copper wires and a light bulb, because you’re going to need them.
