* Remember how England's renowned Black Cab Sessions came to Nashville back in the winter? Sure you do. I wrote a feature about it. Well the BCS folks have posted a trailer from their visit to the States, and you can see it above. During their stops in Nashville, Philly, New Orleans, NYC, Athens and Memphis, Black Cab filmed sessions and performances from former and current locals including Lambchop, Tristen, Jonny Corndawg, Caitlin Rose, Wanda Jackson with Jack White, Heypenny, Those Darlins and more. Dig John C. Reilly introducing Jack and Wanda and some skaters hitting the streets of Music City. Full sessions to come. View the trailer above or at BCS.

* You guys know Chuck Eddy? He's an extremely noteworthy rock critic who's worked for Rolling Stone, The Village Voice, Spin and more, and he's got a book out called Rock and Roll Always Forgets: A Quarter Century of Music Criticism (featuring a forward from Chuck Klosterman). just hosted a podcast with Chuck they're calling "EddyFest 2011," and it features well-known critics like Christopher Weingarten and Ned Raggett talkin' shop with Eddy. Among the featured critics is frequent Scene/Cream contributor Edd Hurt. (Way to go, Edd!) There's some informative talk in there about Nashville and country music and Toby Keith and more. Give it a listen.

* DJ Wick-It the Instigator has another mash-up. This dude just doesn't quit. Last week it was The Coasters and Chris Brown, and this week it's M.I.A. and Faith No More. Hyphy as hell! Hear it at the link or after the jump.

* And speaking of skateboards — I mentioned skateboards a couple of bits back, thank you very much — JEFF the Brotherhood is giving away one of their limited-edition decks. Say the folks at Infinity Cat, "Buy a CD or LP copy of We Are the Champions in the month of August, and you’ll have the chance to win a mega-prize package featuring the previously sold-out MOB Germany JEFF The Bro-hood skate deck" and "an Equilibrium Backpack ... stuffed with goodies." Hey, I like free things stuffed with other free things!
