* The Ettes have been gearing up for the Aug. 2 release of their Wicked Will. "'Gearing up' is pretty vague, Rodgers," you say. Well, I wasn't finished, smartass. They've done a series of videos — some might call them "webisodes" — one of which you can see above. I like the one about drinking and yoga. Also — as WOTT points out — you can preview "Pendulum" via Soundcloud and "Excuse" via iTunes. Hear "Pendulum" — a fuzzy bump of blown-out garage rock — after the jump. [The Ettes]
* Local lass Caitlin Rose is currently across the pond, and today she's playing The iTunes Festival at London's Roundhouse. Don't have money for a plane ticket or the stomach for English cuisine? No sweat. You can stream Rose's performance right here today at 1:45 p.m. Central. She's opening for Rumer, and other artists who have played or will play this 31-day, one-venue fest include Paul Simon, Adele and Coldplay. Big leagues for Cato. Tune in.
* And finally, The Features are going to play Jimmy Kimmel Live on July 26, which also happens to be the release date of their Wilderness. I wrote a review of Wilderness, and you can read it in this week's forthcoming dead-tree edition. Spoiler alert: The record's fucking awesome. Oh, and did I mention that The Features are playing our anniversary party next month at Third Man? Oh yeah. I did mention that. Seriously though, buy a ticket soon. They're going fast, and marketing just informed me that my guest list has to be mad exclusive. Sorry, buds. Seriously: Buy a ticket.
