Goodman — whose cache also includes stints with Top Billing Inc., and RCA, where he was executive VP and GM of Nashville’s RCA Label Group — succeeds outgoing co-chair Mary Ann McCready (a partner at Nashville- and New York-based business management firm Flood, Bumstead, McCready & McCarthy) whose two-year term serving alongside the Mayor recently ended.
As for the Nashville Music Council itself, today’s release also claims that construction is slated to begin this summer on The Ryman Lofts — a Downtown artists’ residence complete with 60 one- to three-bedroom apartments. Plans for complex were developed by the Metropolitan Development & Housing Agency, in concert with the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, which the council partnered with this year. If all goes according to plan, local creative, bohemian types (as well as musicians) can expect to start applying for rentals by the end of next summer. The lofts are located on Rolling Mill Hill.
I’m looking forward to free drinks and shrimp cocktails at the open house.
