Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon to Air on Showtime

Hey Kings of Leon fans, it’s Showtime! That is, if you’re subscribers to the cable network, which will air director and KOL insider Stephen C. Mitchell’s revealing — or so I’m told — documentary on the Followills, Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon, on Aug. 21 at 10 p.m. This will be the cable debut of the rock doc, which premiered at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival in April to roundly positive reviews. NME said of the film:

The way that Talihina Sky focuses on Nathan, Jared, Caleb and Matthew as people outside of the band rather than solely portraying them as idolized, pedestal-dwelling rock stars ultimately makes it a compelling and often touching watch.

You get the feeling that’s it going to be a long time before anyone makes a band documentary as interesting and enjoyable as this - if only because most people haven’t lived the kind of lives that the Followills have.

Kinda makes me wish I had Showtime.
