Did you hear that? That was a collective ginger sigh of fulfillment going up from all the sad grampas in the Nashville area. Why? Because, according to their website, Chicago's sultans of experimental, rootsy folk rock will be playing a two-night stand at The Ryman on Oct. 1 and 2.

More of Wilco's fall tour dates and news about their forthcoming record, The Whole Love, can be seen at P4k. (No tickets/event link yet at The Ryman's site, by the way.) Wilco does, however, have a brand-new single from the record. It's called "I Might," and it's backed with a cover of Nick Lowe's "I Love My Label" — a mad-appropriate cover, considering the fact that Wilco recently left the major-label game to launch their own label, dBpm. Wilco's releases will be distributed by ANTI- Records in the future. Now, let's listen as Tweedy Bird & Co. serenade us with "I Might." With its thick, fuzzy bass tone, a Farfisa and a glockenspiel, "I Might," I'm happy to say, sounds a lot closer to Summerteeth than anything I've heard from Wilco in a while. Sad grampas unite!
