Set phasers to LOL. Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney and admitted garbage-harvester Ke$ha — both of whom reside (at least partially) in Nashville — have a Twitter feud. Looks like it began when Carney noted — as have others — how similar a Lady Gaga tune is to a Madonna tune. Ke$ha leaped to Gaga's defense ... or at least called Carney old. Now loads of Little Monsters are tweeting at Carney, calling him names and so forth. Carney has now clarified.
Are the two just clownin'? Is it a real feud? If shit goes down and the blogosphere becomes divided, do I (because of this piece) have to take Carney's side? Does contributor Sean L. Maloney (because of this piece) have to take Ke$ha's side? So this is what my horoscope meant by, "Today two local rock and/or pop stars will become embroiled in an extremely negligible but pretty funny controversy, and you will have to make a decision." I'm scared!
