* Caitlin Rose recorded a cover of J.D. Souther's "Faithless Love," which most of us know because Linda Ronstadt put it on her album Heart Like a Wheel in 1974. (Here's Linda in '77, for reference.) If you're at all familiar with C. Rose, you won't be surprised that she's covering Ronstadt, nor will you be surprised that does a fine job with the song, which she slows down, de-’70s-izes and distills to just guitar and melody.
* Those natty children known as Natural Child have gone and made an Internet mixtape list for Magnet magazine, which includes the likes of Waka Flocka Flame, Trick Daddy and Dolly Parton. You know what Admiral Ackbar would say if he was a Dirty South rapper? "It's a trap!" [Magnet]
* You know who's excited to see Tristen, JEFF the Brotherhood and Justin Townes Earle at Bonnaroo next week? Everyone I know. And these little dudes. And Evan Schlansky over at American Songwriter, who's ready for some "all-caps rock." Related: It's fucking hot in Tennessee right now.
