Weekend Round-Up: Plague Style

As Steve mentioned Walter Jowers mentioning, the cicada infestation this year might not be as epic as we'd all initially thought. After all, if the little bastards have been experiencing the same elements as we have in their nasty little underground habitats, they've been flooded and frozen an uncanny amount over the past year. I'm starting to think the true "plague" is just how much people talk about the cicadas. Sorry for perpetuating.

Well, above ground and among the local rock 'n' rollers, we have some decent action going on this weekend. Tonight, you're looking at Social Distortion with Chuck Ragan at The Ryman, the Loss record release show at The Rutledge, Mashville at The End, Panty Raid at Exit/In and more. Tomorrow, we've got Mogwai at Exit/In, Taylor Swift's tornado-relief benefit at Bridgestone, The Growlers with Bad Cop and Majestico at The End, fEASTival on the East Side and more. There's even some good action on Sunday. Have a look at the rest after the jump, compiled by music listings editor Adam Gold, who only surfaces once every 13 years — or whenever U2 comes to town. Let us know what we missed, and have a safe weekend.
