You know them. You likely either love them or loathe them. You probably even have a healthy fear of them, what with all the party juices they like to sling around at their notoriously raucous live shows. Atlanta's spittin', swearin', pissin', genital-exposin'
garage-rock exports The Black Lips are staying busy. Just last week, we heard they've already signed on to once again hit the high seas as part of next year's second annual Bruise Cruise
. But before all that, they'll be playing Exit/In on Aug. 3, and tickets go on sale right here
on Friday, May 20, at 10 a.m.
As it happens, The Lips' forthcoming Mark Ronson-produced LP, Arabia Mountain, will be released via Vice Records on June 7, and Rolling Stone just posted the track "New Direction" (which you can also hear below). Ronson — who, as I'm sure you all know, is best known for his work with British chanteuses like Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen — seems to have tamed The Black Lips' unhinged sonics without sacrificing the urgency and disaffection the boys are known for. Dig it.
