You guys like folk influence and general Dylan-iness? Hurtin' for something to do tonight? Contributor Edd Hurt's got you covered with a Critic's Pick:

With his big white-soul voice and deep roots in Blonde on Blonde-era Bob Dylan and folk-rock, Cory Chisel specializes in reworking classic rock. A native of Appleton, Wis., Chisel used organ hooks and pedal steel to enliven some tough blues-rock tracks on 2009’s full-length release Death Won't Send a Letter. “Born Again” and “Calm Down” were dense, dark and commercial — Chisel’s voice suggested such titans of angst as Joe Cocker and Bob Seger. Cut mostly at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio with a cast of musicians that included background vocalist and keyboardist Adriel Harris and drummer Patrick Keeler, Death was an ambitious record. Chisel's cover of The Beatles’ "Fixing a Hole" was a highlight of last year's full-length compilation Minnesota Beatles Project Vol. 2 — his ingenious rearrangement sounded just as good as Cocker’s great version of “With a Little Help From My Friends.”
