Did you snooze on getting tickets to Ted Leo tonight at TMR? You did? Aw, bummer. Or ... blessing in disguise? You see, locals Colorfeels and Casa Castile are both releasing brand-new full-lengths tonight at Exit/In. I haven't gotten to hear Casa Castile's yet — though we have discussed CC a few times — but I did peep Colorfeels' Syzygy, and I penned a pick about it. Check:

In the sphere of pop music, melody is king. Whether its inflection is R&B, punk, blues, country or Americana, a song can open minds and transcend classification just so long as it can capture that one elusive element: a stirring, memorable melody. With their full-length debut, locals Colorfeels execute that imperative with tenacity. Whether it’s via the banjo, steel, wind and string flourishes of “Keeping Me Alive” or the worldbeat-leaning, Graceland-esque turns of “Unplanned Holiday,” Colorfeels are chameleonic in their ability to divine a strong melody via whatever means necessary. Tonight, Colorfeels will debut their first full-length album — as will fellow eclectic melody-chasers Casa Castile. Though we haven’t yet heard Casa’s latest, if last year’s Vake EP is any indication — and we’re hoping it is — then their full-length will feature some intricate bedroom pop. A 10-spot buys you admission as well as digital download cards for both Colorfeels’ and Casa Castile’s albums, and fellow locals The Kingston Springs open.

Listen to "Pretty Walk" below, or stream all of Colorfeels' Syzygy right here. Plus, there's a Facebook event page and everything.
