Ben Folds Covers Ke$ha's 'Sleazy' for Tsunami Relief ... Seriously This Time

Posted By on Thu, May 5, 2011 at 4:39 PM

We reported back in November that Nashvillian Ben Folds covered semi-Nashvillian Ke$ha's "Sleazy" in a live setting. Well now he's doing it proper style — and for charity, no less! — with glockenspiel, a marching-band-style bass drum and a little bit of Stella Artois as party fuel. Check Folds' drummer Sam Smith — who is also My So-Called Band's drummer and the illustrator responsible for this week's cover image — going off on BGVs at 2:30. By the way, Folds says that by donating $10 to Download to Donate's Japanese tsunami relief efforts, you can get his version of "Sleazy" along with 23 other tunes from artists like Surfer Blood, Talib Kweli, Tegan and Sara and more.
