Moovers & Shakers Debut Today at Belmont, Good Show Tonight at Danzig's, Black Keys' MOJO Comp and Black Keys' Buddy Holly Tune [Speaking of Newsy Bits]

* Moovers & Shakers — those milkshake peddlers who met their Kickstarter goal — are premiering their tasty-mobile today at Belmont. Like, right now! Pizza Buds and The Grilled Cheeserie will also be there, and bands will be performing — bands including our boy Evan P. Donohue (who has a M&S milkshake named after him), Big Surr (who also have a milkshake named after them), Diarrhea Planet (who hopefully don't have a milkshake named after them) and Bows and Arrows. Shindig transpires from noon till 5 p.m. See more deets, along with Moovers & Shakers' brand-new menu, at the Facebook event page.

* Speaking of Big Surr, they're also playing a hot show tonight at local punk/house-show bastion Glenn Danzig's House. Also on the bill are Natural Child and Cy Barkley and the Way Outsiders, the latter of whom are celebrating the release of their single, "Rock Together." There will also be some special out-of-towners in attendance, but I ain't about to spill those beans. See all the details over at Nashville's Dead.

* Speaking of ... I dunno, music, you know how the dead-tree version of MOJO always includes a sampler or a compilation of some sort? Well, their latest issue — the one with Kate Bush on the cover — features a compilation called Brotherhood, which was put together by The Black Keys. It features Black Keys tunes, Black Keys side-project tunes (Blakroc, Auerbach), tunes by bands the Keys have worked with (Hacienda, Royal Bangs) and tunes by folks who influenced the Keys (Junior Kimbrough, Captain Beefheart, The Sonics). Scoop it! Tip of the hat to contributor William Hooker, who hipped us to this one.

* And speaking of The Black Keys, remember how a bunch of folks (Karen Elson, The Black Keys, JTE, Sir Paul and more) put together that Buddy Holly tribute album? Well, the Keys did a version of "Dearest" for it, and you can already hear it below. Rave on Buddy Holly is out June 28, and there's more info at this site I've never heard of.
