* A while back we
told you hip-hop legend Raekwon will be coming to Nashville. That's still true, but the date has changed — the show will NOT be April 24 as we first reported. The local stop of the Wu-Tang vs. Shaolin Tour has been rescheduled, and will now hit Exit/In on Thursday, June 2. Confirmed openers include some of Nashville's best up-and-coming hip-hop talent:
Sam & Tre and
Dee Goodz. As for other unconfirmed, very special guests, it'd "be easy" to speculate, but we haven't been able to confirm anything yet.
* A while back we also told you reggae legends The Mighty Diamonds would be coming to town. We even ran a music feature on the band in anticipation of the show — which was then canceled, oh, a few hours after the paper went to press. Luckily, that show has been rescheduled, too, and you can get irie as all get-out on Thursday, May 5 at The End. DJ Pale Rider will open, as well as some other acts TBA. Tickets, I am told by the promoter, will be $15, though it's not up on The End's calendar yet.
