From a Critic's Pick:

The Non-Commissioned Officers have come a long way since Sheikh Eric il-bin Lehning led the band in opening last year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival for a captive audience of sweaty hippies craving boss tunes. Their live lineup has lost members (including co-founder Jordan Lehning and Scene writer Adam Gold) and recruited fresh blood, and The Non-Coms have released their LP on vinyl with the DVD/Blu-Ray of the locally shot Make-Out With Violence to great acclaim. Now, the outfit is celebrating the release of Money Looking for Thieves, the follow-up to their 2009 zombie-opus soundtrack. For Thieves, Non-Coms pick up the ’80s-inspired dream-pop exactly where they left off, with a thick fog of reverb-y bass and vocals, truckloads of synth and an aesthetic that feels nostalgic without sounding dated. The album is properly cinematic — exactly the kind of music that we’ve grown accustomed to hearing from a band founded to score an independent zombie coming-of-age story. Cortney Tidwell and Kyle Andrews open.
