Chris Scruggs to Host Midnight Jamboree Tomorrow Night

Chris Scruggs
I know there are a host of good rock shows going on in town this weekend, but if you’re looking for something to see and/or hear on the country tip, you might want to consider trekking out to Opryland, where native son and Duke of Music City Chris Scruggs will host, as well as perform at, tomorrow night’s installment of The Midnight Jamboree at the Texas Troubadour Theater — located at Ernest Tubb’s Opry locale. Scruggs’ guests will include his mom and Nashville legend Gail Davies, bluegrass fiddle extraordinaire/vocalist Odessa Jorgensen, and stealth steel maestro Paul Niehaus (Calexico, Lambchop).

Can’t make it? Then tune in to WSM to catch the broadcast, which commences, as always, at midnight. And if you’re heading down to Austin for next week’s SXSW shindig and live music overdose, make sure to keep an eye out for Scruggs, who will man the sticks, skins and cymbals while moonlighting as drummer for Tristen.
