I've been wondering when some of the bigger media outlets that have taken up the KUSF story (
cough) would also take up the WRVU story and see the connection since, well, it's pretty obvious.
CMJ came through yesterday, with a piece by Brianne Galli on the opposition to
selling WRVU's broadcast license and connects those two dots. And if you've been wondering what 300 listeners "at any given time" works out to, then check this out: "WRVU averaged 28,500 listeners between July and October 2010, making it one of the nation’s top college stations, so the lash out against its sale comes as no surprise."
As for that whole maybe-Vanderbilt-will-buy-WRVU scenario Chris Carroll floated out there in Orbis the other day, along with that whole maybe-some-really-rich-people-will-pay-for-an-endowment scenario, I've yet to get a response from Chancellor Zeppos' office. They have said before that VU is going to stay out of this, though.
