I'm feeling oddly positive today. Bring on the newsy bits!
* The new video for the dearly departed And the Relatives' "Siamese" was culled from old family reels and edited by bassist Eli Beaird. That's it up there.
* Jensen Sportag garner some more positive pixels, this time courtesy of Electronic Beats, who have plenty of praise for JS, including: "Who cares if they reference the 80s heavily, they bring it and that's all we ask." The same review may call Nashvile a "city of paradoxes, all country music and redneck mentality," but let's not focus on that, because we're being positive. Speaking of pixels, the Sportag website got a redesign, so check that freshness. [Electronic Beats]
* Time Out Chicago gives Those Darlins' Screws Get Loose four stars, referring to the band as "the redneck Ramones," bringing our "redneck" tally to two, but hey, we're feeling positive today. Further down in the review: "Their jangling shuffle explores the middle ground between the Go-Go’s and Merle Haggard. Yeah, that territory exists. And the chicken there is delicious." [TOC]
* Hey college girls: Take it from Charlsie — a college girl herself — when she says college girls shouldn't hate Ke$ha, mainly because she is who U R: "Even though we might not all have 'Jesus on our necklace' like Ke$ha does, we are no different when we’re dancing on table tops, throwing beer pong balls across the room, and celebrating yet another Friday night — it’s just who we are!"
