Desert-rock purveyors, alt-rock icons and as-yet-unchallenged heirs to the Badasses of Hard Rock Throne, Queens of the Stone Age, are bringing their hook-laden monster jams to The Mother Church on Sunday, March 20. And in an unexpected but pretty cool turn, they’ll be playing their self-titled 1998 debut in its entirety, as well as “B-sides and more.” I do, though, have a little bit of advice. As Ryan Adams and Ray LaMontagne have both demonstrated, unpleasant altercations can and have gone down at The Ryman. And given the terrifying Ginger Justice doled out by QOTSA frontman and mastermind Josh Homme in the above clip, I highly recommend that you do not throw any objects at the stage during their performance. Unless you want to get bu-fu'd in front of all your friends, that is.
If you’re looking for a local connection — there’s always one somewhere — Queens of the Stone Age’s lineup features Dead Weather member Dean Fertita, who recently said The Queens would be recording a new full-length — their first since 2007 — beginning in January. Tickets for the show will be available right here beginning this Saturday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. Who's opening? No one knows.
