Speaking of indie rock, one thing regular readers won’t be surprised to hear is that a new PUJOL release drops today. To coincide with Cupid’s arrow, Adam AnyOn E’s Jeffrey Drag Records is putting out PUJOL’s “Bonedaddy” 7-inch — the label's first vinyl release. The track — which you can stream on the label’s Bandcamp page — is another in a long line of upbeat, infectious earworms from the prolific punk-popster. "Bonedaddy" also features Nashville’s Dead steward Forever Young (i.e., Ben Todd) poundin’ the skins. And the B-side, “Get’n Hard” — a Kinks-y, jangly jam — features the singer’s former bandmate, Natural Child’s Wez Traylor, making for two-thirds of a MEEMAW reunion. (Yay!)
In case that isn’t enough impetus to surf over to Bandcamp, or run out to Grimey’s, The Groove or Wild Cow to pick up this hot wax, the fact that it’s for a good cause should. Proceeds from the sale of this release, produced by Jeremy Ferguson (Battle Tapes), will go to aid the Nashville knob-twiddler and his love, Candice Burnside, in paying off medical bills incurred by Burnside’s fight with breast cancer.
