Starwood Amphitheater Site to Make 'Temporary' Return as Venue

Posted by on Wed, Feb 2, 2011 at 5:45 PM

No fuckin' way were local rockers August Christopher — whose official site is a sight to behold, BTW — gonna let revolting rockers Aerosmith and Mötley Crüe be the last acts to perform at Nashville's now-demolished Starwood Amphitheater. (See video above.) And no way was our Metro Council gonna just sit back and let August Christopher pirate and covet such a distinction. They've got their own plans. According to WSMV:

On Tuesday night the Metro Council took its final vote on a plan that will bring live shows back to the [site of the old Starwood amphitheater] temporarily.

The move clears the way for a 12,000-seat amphitheater and outdoor events for five years.

More deets and developments to come — but for now, click here to catch up. Discuss.
