* One Thirty BPM reports that the current Monotonix tour will be their last. That means their show with PUJOL at The End this Wednesday, Feb. 2, could be your last opportunity to catch a set from the reckless Israeli three-piece. As 130BPM points out, “Whether this is true or just another stunt in their stunt-filled show is yet to be seen. Either way, get out to see Monotonix.” Good point.
* All hail the Dawg! Jokester folk crooner and sometime local Jonny Corndawg was just featured in New York Magazine. Talkin’ jeans. Zines and jeans. Says Corndawg, “I wear Wrangler’s Cowboy Cut slim-fit, 32-32. That’s my jam. ... I cut off the Wrangler patch and sew my own ‘JC’ leather patch to the butt.”
* The Vinyl District has relaunched, and among their fleet is a Nashville branch. It looks as though local show-frequenter and Battle Tapes’ in-house fiancé Candice Burnside is providing some content for them. Welcome to the local playground, VD.
* According to the boys from Jensen Sportag, their Pure Wet will be released via Cascine Records (the US division of Sweden’s Service) on Feb. 15. They also have a new single called “Everything Good” — which I once heard a rough cut of in a car while drinking Booker’s Bourbon — and you can see the video right here.
