Cream Calendar Sharon Van Etten to Play First In-Store at The Groove, Jan. 22

Last night, East Nashville record shop The Groove announced via their Facebook page that this Saturday, Jan. 22, the inimitable Sharon Van Etten will play the first in-store performance at their new location at 1103 Calvin Ave. That show is free, all-ages, and starts at 3 p.m.

Maybe living in Brooklyn has gotten the former Murfreesboroan used to the idea of keeping to the east side of things, as Van Etten will stay in the 37206 to play The 5 Spot later that night, with Julianna Barwick and Jasmin Kaset opening. Look for an interview with SVE in this space tomorrow, and in the meantime, here's "Don't Do It," off of Epic, one of the best albums of 2010.
