Over at The Basement, you've got Hymn for Her, Lauren Adelle, Quiet Entertainer, Red River and Screeching Eels. Edd Hurt likens HFH to both Beefheart (RIP) and The Shaggs, landing on this observation: "It’s something new under the sun — the amazing 'Here' suggests that garage rock has finally moved into the trailer park. Where it belongs." (Side note: Is a baby in diapers in your band photo the new everybody wears suits in your band photo?)
Speaking of where garage rock belongs: Over at the Danziggurat, you've got Liquor Store, Natural Child, Cy Barkley and Ben Steine's Money. Liquor Store were the target of some Twitter beef from Jay Reatard (RIP) about a year ago, but whatever. Speaking of everybody wears suits in your band photo, this might be BSM's only show of the year, but you still can't have a piece of their money. Or something like that. Be safe out there, and don't drive a van with no tags in the snow.
