Weekend Round-Up: 2011 Style

FEEL IT!
  • FEEL IT!
In the immortal (i.e., probably not immortal but certainly awesome for the moment) words of Wiz Khalifa, can we please try to make 2011 "ballin' out on every level"? It seems as though in 2010, for every awesome thing that happened, about a dozen completely lame things happened as well. Let's make it work.

This weekend's looking pretty strong. Tonight, you've got shows including a Beatles tribute at Exit/In, a Janis Joplin tribute early at The Basement — to be followed by another show at your usual rock o'clock — H-Beam at The 5 Spot and John Carter Cash at The Rutledge. Saturday is the benefit for the Truso family at Mercy Lounge (a big deal), featuring Cheer Up Charlie Daniels, Armed Forces and more, plus The Clutters' 10th Anniversary at The Basement, Mashville at The End and loads more. See the rest — compiled by music listings editor and space-frequenting future-naut Adam Gold — after the jump. Let us know what we missed, and have yourselves a safe weekend.
