Oh, the majesty of the Internet. At the risk of dating myself, I’m gonna go ahead and predict that, despite not being a new meme, well-manipulated, comically dubbed clips like YouTuber StSanders’ now infamous “Shreds” series will never get old or stop being hilarious. When I was a young lad, singing cookie-monster renditions of pop songs for my own amusement, I used to dream something so endlessly hilarious would exist — and exist in a medium to which I’d have unlimited access.
Those of you who share in my sentiments and enthusiasm for these time-sucking, trivial, but ceaselessly hilarious musical sight gags will probably get a kick out of the deathly metallic sonic bastardization of Conway Twitty’s “I See the Want to in Your Eyes” above — brought to you by the same genius who gave us “Enter Sandman (Smooth Jazz Version).” While it’s not nearly as mind blowing in its brutality as the death metal manipulation of Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” it’s about the most evil thing I’ve seen all day. And it has a tacit Nashville connection. Enjoy.
