First, here's a nice video of KORT playing "He's Only a Memory Away" in Leipzig, Germany, courtesy — or should I say, KORTesy — of YouTube user AugeAugsburg. A terrific number, and a nice guitar run in the middle there by the ever-talented and ubiquitous William Tyler, with BGVs courtesy of European tour partner Caitlin Rose.
Speaking of William Tyler: Known to many in Nashville and beyond as Willy T, guitarist of record for the likes of Lambchop, KORT, Silver Jews and your favorite band, Mr. T has a solo album forthcoming on the Tompkins Square label, called Behold the Spirit, the spirit of which you can behold, for free, over at NPR (until Nov. 23).
Speaking of KORT and Caitlin Rose, both were included on Rough Trade's top 100 albums of the year. KORT checked in at No. 77 and Rose landed a sterling No. 4, ahead of Beach House and Salem. Take that, chillwitches.
