Kings of Leon's 'Radioactive' Totally Sounds Like Mona's 'Listen to Your Love'

All this talk about songs sounding like other songs reminds me that there's this thing with the intro to Kings of Leon's "Radioactive": It sounds a lot like the intro to Mona's "Listen to Your Love." Which sounds a bit like the intro to the Breeders' "Cannonball." Of course, lots of things sound like lots of things, and the two songs part ways pretty quickly, but considering that Mona's been dubbed the "Princes of Leon" and such, it seems peculiarly particular in this case. Asked about the similarity in a recent issue of the Scene, Mona frontman Nick Brown was vague at first: "I don't really know what to say to that. I mean, our song came out first. ['Love'] was recorded on the BBC before they were even done with their album." But he also got a little more pointed, adding: "I don't think anything's coincidence." Mona's above, KOL's below. You make the call.
