The Campaign to Declare 11/11/11 Nigel Tufnel Day [Because It's 11/11/10!]

Posted By on Thu, Nov 11, 2010 at 11:11 AM

OK, frivolous Facebook campaign, I'll bite — even if it's a shit sandwich I'm biting into.

At press time, the 11th second of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of the 11th year of this young century* is EXACTLY one year away. In a very 2010 move, Facebook users — i.e. almost anyone you know — have launched a campaign to declare 11/11/11 Nigel Tufel Day in hopes of turning the mono-nary calendar date up to ... wait for it ... 11. I guess that's cool. I mean, why not? Right?

With the countdown starting now, I hereby endorse this effort. Like!

In case you're lost:

* Editor's note: For those who say the 21st century began in the year 2000, 2011 is actually the 12th year of this century. For the sake of continuity and to be able to use "11th" five times in one sentence, we used the 21st-century-began-in-2001 model.
