Remember how they used to have shows, but then they stopped having shows — something about fire marshals and codes or something? Back then, Sheriff Lin was a Turncoat and there was no such thing as Those Darlins underpants yet. How far we've all come! In the intervening years, "Grandpa Lace" has put out records by Velcro Stars, Hands Down Eugene, Dr. Powerful, Apollo Up! and Ghostfinger, as well as printing up some fine posters (including our first anniversary flat) and hosting your occasional Next Big Nashville showcase or your Rock the Block, all while selling the fine people of Murfreesboro Mammatus records and whatever else their voracious staff didn't hoard for themselves before putting on the racks.
So happy birthday, Grand Palace, and all your "hip shit for the geographic center of rock ’n’ roll." Oh, and sorry about that time you got shot while visiting Nashville.
