But. Since this is the Cream and we do, occasionally, talk about music here, let's talk about music. As always, Scene writers handed out BON nods, and this year those nods went to Caitlin Rose (Best Local Album Only Available as an Import), Exit/In (Best Local Venue Comeback), Caleb Followill (Best Use of the Phrase "Not Just Stroking Their Pole"), Miranda Lambert (Best Tough Woman in Country Music), Kenny Smoov (Best Urban Music Jock), Jack White and Jay-Z (Best Collaboration We Haven't Heard Yet), Hayley Williams (Best Hook-Delivering Cameo in a Rap Song) and many, many more. Check them out here.
The other component of Best of Nashville is, of course, the Readers Poll. Just as this year's print edition is the biggest ever, this year's Readers Poll attracted the most votes ever. I guess it was a good year. I won't tell you who upended The Features as Best Local Band, but I will say that a certain music blog did well in the Best Music Blog category (they forgot the word "EVAR" on the ballot, though). Check the Readers Poll here.
