The folks at Mercy Lounge and Cannery Ballroom have just unleashed a slew of show announcements for the coming months, each more enticing than the next ... depending on the order in which you view the announcements, I suppose. Let's just go chronologically, shall we?
* Nashville institutions Jason and the Scorchers will be appearing at Mercy on Oct. 8 with Stacie Collins. Tickets, available here, are $15 in advance and $20 the day of.
* Chicagoan art-rock dudes Maps & Atlases will be upstairs on Nov. 3, with Tera Melos & The Globes supporting. That one's a 10-spot, and can be acquired here.
* Rootsy San Franciscan indie-rockers Delta Spirit — whose "Bushwick Blues" can be seen above — will be returning on Dec. 3 in support their latest, History From Below. That record, I'll say, is a solid and enjoyable (though not particularly groundbreaking) effort. Darker My Love support, and tickets are $12.
* Now, here we have a mild dilemma: On the very same night as Delta Spirit's show, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim — of Tim & Eric fame — will be presenting their Tim and Eric Awesome Tour, Great Job! Chrimbus Spectacular 2010 downstairs at Cannery Ballroom. That's also on Dec. 3, and tickets are apparently $25. Now, I don't know whether you'd prefer Americana-leaning, affordable West Coast indie rock or powerfully absurdist, weird-out LOL-fests. But to help you decide, I've included what is potentially my favorite Tim & Eric skit to date after the jump.
