Hey, did you hear the one about how Jeff Yarbro lost the Democratic primary to 840-year-old Douglas "rape, ladies and gentlemen, is not today what rape was" Henry — by 17 votes? I'm not saying that voting is important or anything, or that you should vote, ever. But what I am saying is that this year's Best of Nashville ballot is up, and that you could, if you wanted, vote for stuff you think is the bestest in Nashville. This is basically the one time every year that your critical appraisal of things gets into the paper. Not that you should care, just sayin'.

Since we like to talk about music around here, you might be interested in the Arts & Entertainment category, which includes important distinctions like Best Local Band, Best Concert, Best Place to Hear Live Music, Best Music Industry Hang (make your own joke), Best New Bar or Club opened since Oct. 2009, Best Open Mic and so forth. And since this is a music blog, ahem, you might want to cast a vote in the Media category. And there's always the wild-card Best Category We Forgot (under Other), where you can nominate whatever for inclusion in our yearly Best of Nashville issue. Get psyched! Or not.
