Brewers (and former Sounds) reliever JOHN AXFORD tells USA Today Sports (Baseball) Weekly that he was a film major at Notre Dame, treasures his collection of foreign films on DVD, and liked some art house theater near Vanderbilt. Also liked the music scene in Nashville.
this thing has probably been in the works for months. i'd say that it's more directly inspired by Devo doing the exact same thing with 2 of their albums over the course of 2 nights. Josh Freese happens to be the touring drummer in both bands right now.
This Weezer thing is lame on many levels. First, to know our music "cognescenti" think it's a good idea to base their anniversary party around the playing of Pinkerton is, well, depressing. If you have to ask why, then you're a hopeless case. Second, that the Cream somehow thinks it influenced Weezer's decision to do ANYTHING is just pathetic. Frankly, I've never seen such a glaring example of self-important groveling in my life. I have to ask: was this decision unanimous among all the Cream staffers? Please...say it ain't soooooo...
@Brisket36 You think they were inspired by all the other bands that have already done exactly the same thing with the best-regarded albums of their catalogue? Nonsense!
@g-money We decided to base our anniversary party around the idea of having a fun show. As you point out, that is lame on many levels.
