Uh ... just follow the link if you really want to know what he's referring to. Listen to the song after the jump.
The auditory homage to Nashville’s native P. Diddy-empathizer is the digital B-side to his band’s “Radical Luv”/“Vultures (You Never Shut Up)” double A-side, which drops on 7-inch, Aug. 30. As you may or may not recall, the 7-inch owes its life to a successful Kickstarter campaign with incentives ranging from a plain-ole copy for $10, up to an opportunity to actually join the band for $1,000 — with proceeds going to benefit MusiCares.
While that campaign has ended, the incentives continue. The Aug. 30 8 off 8th bash Jazz is hosting to celebrate the 7-inch's physical release has the distinction of being perhaps the first in the Mercy Lounge weekly series’ storied history to have pre-sale tickets made available. As with all 8-offs, general admission is free, but $5 will secure you a copy of the release, and $20 will get you that and an “exclusive” T-shirt handcrafted and silkscreened by Jazz himself — they look like this. It sure as hell seems like the dude is getting down on some Richie Kotzen shit.
If BJ and his antics aren’t your thing, the 8-off will also boast appearances from Heartbeater, Diarrhea Planet, Loose Cougar, Coach and Kase and more — each of whom will shower the audience with giveaways and “random acts of kindness from total strangers." In addition to AF-approved vendors like Grimey’s and Fido, who will be “giving away free shit,” representatives from United Record Pressing — who pressed the 7-inch — will set up an info booth at which they’ll give D.I.Y. musicians tips and insights into how they can put their own rock on wax.
