I mentioned Family Tree Art Collective last week — it's that collective from De Novo Dahl and friends that promises to offer free weekly tunes, art, essays, et cetera. Well, their launch show at The 5 Spot Saturday evening was a well-attended success, and now
the Family Tree website is in full effect. If you surf on over to that bad boy — which was designed and coded by
Snowcat Press — you'll find updates on Family Tree's plans for community projects, info about the Full Deck Project and more. Full Deck is Family Tree's plan to release "at least a song a week for the next year for free download on [their]
Bandcamp page." Right now, they're offering a song called "Actors in the Movies" by Paris Ontario and another called "Sunshine" by De Novo Dahl. Hear the latter below.
Oh, and, while I said DND frontman Joel J. Dahl is "heading up" the Family Tree project, he wanted to make it known that it's "truly a free-form collective community." No boss. No president. No kingpin. No honcho. Just a bunch of folks with good attitudes and ideas. Dig.
