So here's the new Turbo Fruits video for "Mama's Mad Cos I Fried My Brain," directed by Matthew "We Fun" Robison and featuring pills, bare-chested motorcycling, suction and the smashing of melons. (In addition to angering his mother, Stein has made Daddy mad 'cause he wrecked the car, and it looks like maybe the car was an Audi?) I don't recommend you watch this video if you have a heart condition or epilepsy. In other Turbo news, the band announced on the Twitter yesterday that they've got a new 7-inch on the way in October, and singer dude Jonas Stein confirms by email that they'll be recording some jams with Jeremy Ferguson over at Battle Tapes next week. Stein said the new single will be the first in a series to be self-released on the band's new label, Turbo Time Records. "To hell with going through other labels anymore," is the way he put it. He also told me about something else pretty awesome that he asked me not to mention yet, but I can say it involves water, smoke and the tropics. If you know what I mean.
