There’s an old expression my dad likes to use whenever the weather gets as sweltering and oppressive as it’s been in recent weeks: It’s hotter than a two-dollar pistol! (How’s that for a segue, eh?) The savvy proprietors of beloved East Nashville haunt The 5 Spot have come up with a cheap, weekly way to beat the heat without all that sticky bump-and-grind you’re destined to encounter at the notorious Monday night Keep on Movin’ Dance Party. Two-Dollar Tuesdays will not only feature two-dollar hot dogs, two-dollar Yazoo beers of your choice and a scant two-dollar cover, but also a rotating cast of performers booked by local Americana songsmith Derek Hoke. Hoke himself will also perform, and this week’s lineup features Electric Western co-founder and Mooney Suzuki member Reno Bo, along with Korby Lenker and Grant Johnson.
Tonight is a Tuesday night, in case you hadn't yet consulted your iCal about it. Get on that.
